OUR MISSION
We value play, community and creativity.
We believe that kids should spend their hours creating, inventing, problem-solving and laughing, so we put our resources - time, teachers and materials - toward supporting their ideas. That changes everything: the block corner becomes a racetrack, the front yard becomes a sidewalk cafe, the classroom becomes a toy workshop. What stays consistent is our commitment to a democratic, child-centered process and our focus on building a community of acceptance and kindness.
We prioritize the inclusion and celebration of kids of all abilities and backgrounds.
Anti-racist, gender inclusive, anti-ablest and youth empowered training is essential for our team, and our daily curriculum, materials and encounters are created and evaluated according to this work.
We are committed to providing free and reduced-tuition camp to qualified families. (so far we have adjusted $75,000 in tuition and counting)
We maintain a staff to camper ratio that allows all community members to thrive (1:4-1:7, dependent on age and activity.)
Our staff are incomparably warm, experienced and talented, and we are committed to compensating them that way.
